Javier Bardem Is A Wanted Man
Javier Bardem has to high profile roles he is setting his sights on.
Javier Bardem just scored an Oscar nomination last week, but now he has two big film projects to add to his resume. Besides being the first choice play the lead in Ron Howard’s The Dark Tower, Bardem could be doing battle with 007.
MGM and Bond producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are looking to snag Bardem as the likely second male lead of the movie. And while he could definitelybe playing a villainous type in the high echelons of the Quantum organisation, there's no confirmation yet on what the part might actually be – for all anyone outside of EON knows, he could be another intelligence type who helps Bond out, or another, more mysterious player in the world of 007. If I had my choice, though, he would be a formidable challenge to Daniel Craig's 007.
Sam Mendes is still attached to direct the script from Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan; and Judi Dench will be returning to play M. Despite the longer break between this film and the last one, the story apparently picks up almost immediately after the events of Quantum of Solace. The next Bond saga opens up in November 2012.
