I’m one of those people that bought the extra books JK Rowling wrote to give more information about the series: The Tales of Beedle and Bard, Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I also played in the UGA Quidditch league for a time —yes, such a thing exists.
Given my loyalty to the Harry Potter franchise, the next rumored step for Harry Potter, may exceed my nerdiness…or maybe not. We shall have to see. Maybe it will stupefy! me… sorry I had to do that. JK Rowling announced Pottermore yesterday. She posted a countdown to the release on her YouTube channel. The only information she has given her fans is that the owls are waiting to deliver a very exciting announcement. There is wide speculation that a Harry Potter MMO (the link goes to Wikipedia because I had no idea what MMO meant either) is going to be unveiled. Basically, think World of Warcraft, but for Harry Potter fans. Many news sites have reported Warner Bros. applied for the Pottermore trademark in 2009, so this new site has been in the works for a long while now. So, in other words, it’s gotta be good. In the meantime, got any ideas on what it could be? Will you be rushing to the world wide web the second the site goes live? |
