The nautical look is an ageless trend that we see so often in warmer climates. It’s not hard to mimic amazing nautical style like Taylor Swift’s outfit. You can never go wrong with a comfy pair of white shorts and a navy knit. Forming the nautical look is all about colors, stripes, structures and accessories.  Red, white and blue is the fashion perfect fashion scheme, whether you are dressing for July 4 or dressing for class, work or an evening out.

The main statement of the nautical look is good ole patriotic red white and blue. Selecting your outfit around these basic colors ensures you a sailor vibe.  I love taking a simple piece like a red high-waisted skirt and pairing it with a structured navy cardigan and nude wedges for a cute and flawless outfit that screams chic. The staples that every nautical chick must have are:

  • Stripes, stripes, and more stripes!
  • A great pair of white cotton shorts
  • A flowy summer dress… or four
  • Anchor themed jewelry
  • Boat shoes/TOMS

It is so easy to go overboard with this trend. I highly suggest minimum accessories. A simple anchor ring and stud earrings work well along with your red, white, blue or striped outfit. Only include one nautical jewelry piece at a time and don't dress head-to-toe in stripes & anchors. Instead, pair a navy striped top and jeans with a red scarf and some nautical earrings and you’re good to go! By keeping it classy and sophisticated, you will look high fashion and avoid a shipwreck (pun intended.)
