Summer Birthday Party Ideas and Outfits

Although it's only a few weeks into the summer, calendars have already been filled with beach parties, get togethers with friends and birthday parties! My birthday was the 7th, and I racked my brain for all sorts of ideas on not only what to do for my birthday, but most importantly what to wear!

Choices are endless when it comes to what to do during the summer months: Amusement parks are open, beaches are everywhere and there is always the option of  going to the clubs with friends or getting together for a dinner.

Amusement Park/ Water Park

Amusement Parks are a huge attraction in the summer, and most have water parks inside. It's a fun place to hang with all your friends and have an action-packed day on all the rides! You want to make sure you wear something comfortable, because you will be there all day. If you bring a bag with you, make sure it's something you can carry all day, or get a locker to put it in. This is not an event where you bring your largest tote bag. Try something simple like a cross-body bag for easy access and portability.

Amusement Parks are a great place to go for a birthday because you can bring all your friends, and beat the summer heat in the water park.

Dinner Out

The classic birthday event! This can be anything from a fancy dinner to grabbing a quick bite to eat before heading onto something else, restaurant or home-cooked. Another good birthday choice because it gives you a chance to sit down with all your friends and talk. A dress is always a fun dinner-out item an with some high-heels and an adorable clutch, your ready to go. If you’re more comfortable in pants, wear a fun bright top, with a matching item. Here, I have chosen to match the top to the shoes.

Dancing

This is number one on my birthday list. I love to dance and it's a go-to for girls night. Grab your girlfriends, toss on your favorite party outfit and dance the night away! Dancing is always fun, and what can be more fun than going out and flaunting your birthday? You can dress up as much as you want, or go low-key and wear jeans and a cute top. If your feeling super brave, you can toss on a "Birthday Girl" tiara. I made crowns for a friends birthday one year, and decorated them all with "Birthday Girl", and "Friends of the Birthday Girl" to wear to dinner. Everyone thought it was adorable, and everyone was coming over to our table just to wish her a Happy Birthday!

Backyard Party

I can't think of a year when I didn't have a backyard party, or something of the sort for my birthday. It's an easy way to get all your friends over to hang out and spend the day. If you’re planning the party, you can easily make this a surprise party and get family and friends of the birthday gal in on it. You can have a barbecue, pool party or whatever you feel like. Turn the music up, get your friends over and celebrate!
