| Tension Doooor - Review by Mansha Rastogi Posted: 14 Dec 2011 12:28 PM PST  one can stay as doooor from Tension Door as possible unless one wants to invite Tension! - Mansha Rastogi Fri, 04 Nov 2011 If the other two releases of this week namely Loot and Miley Na Miley Hum weren't enough for atrocious viewing, here comes another flick that might seriously injure you brains cells - Tension Doooor. Gopal that's Swaraj Singh is a sincere village boy who survives a freak road accident. Post recovery, he realises he also is able to hear and understand the unspoken feelings in a person's mind, which results in some of the corrupt authorities of his village being exposed and getting him thrown out. So when he leaves the village and his love that's Bijli (Swati Anand) behind, he finds solace in the company of Papplu (Ali Asgar) who helps him make a noble living with his ability that is till they land themselves in some deep trouble. Tension Doooor is one such film that would make you run away from the cinema hall (that's if you choose to watch it in the first place) right in the initial 30 minutes. Though the only saviour of the entire film is stand up comedian and small screen actor Ali Asgar who provides some comic relief, the sight of the lead actor makes you squirm in your seat. The fact that this movie shouldn't have been made is an understatement. Everything about Tension Doooor should carefully be kept doooor only. The makers who show the movie's name as Tension Doooor.com at one end and as just Tension Doooor at other prove just how careless the making is. Performances by everyone especially lead actor Swaraj Singh is the purest form of torture. Song sequences test patience. Poor script and cheap editing make for a horrible watch. To mention that through the movie, supporting actors are forever speaking in chorus is also just being polite. Once known for his feat, director Ambrish Singhal lets us down with an ancient portrayal. To sum it up, one can stay as doooor from Tension Door as possible unless one wants to invite Tension! | 'Ladies vs...' average, earns Rs.16.54 cr in opening weekend Posted: 14 Dec 2011 10:28 AM PST  New Delhi, Dec 12 (IANS) Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma-starrer "Ladies vs Ricky Bahl" made an average start and the romantic comedy, which got mixed reviews, has earned approximately Rs.16.54 crore in the opening weekend.Made at a budget of Rs.25 crore, the film collected Rs.4.74 crore Friday, Rs.5.59 crore Saturday and Rs.6.21 crore Sunday. A conman's story, the film sees Ranveer fooling three girls Aditi Sharma, Dipannita Sharma and Parineeti Chopra, cousin of actress Priyanka Chopra. In the end, he finds his match in Anushka. "Ladies vs Ricky Bahl" brought the "Band Baaja Baaraat" trio of Ranveer, Anushka and director Maneesh Sharma together, but they couldn't repeat the same success story. While some trade experts say that the film has opened up good, others feel that the Anushka-Ranveer jodi has failed this time. "The response to the film is average as the occupancy has been 60-70 percent," Yogesh Raizada, corporate head (Cinemas) of Wave Cinemas told IANS. Puneet Sahay, of Spice Cinemas says that family audiences stayed away as the film targeted the young crowd. "The occupancy has been around 85 percent in total for all three days and it targets younger crowd. The opening was dull on Friday but later it picked up in the next two days, however, the occupancy dropped again on Monday," he said. "The film is likely to get affected by the release of 'Mission Impossible 4: The Ghost Protocol'. There is a lot of buzz surrounding the film as it stars Anil Kapoor. He comes across as a "people's actor", shaking a leg with them at almost every event and his fans claim to know SRK inside out, but the superstar thinks otherwise. "My life is not as open book, the way people consider it. When I come in front of you people, it is mostly work related. I feel that you people belong to the same business as me so the questions that you ask, I usually give a good and detailed answer to that," said SRK here at the unveiling of his official opus "King Khan - The Official Opus of Shah Rukh Khan". The actor, who has spent more than 23 years in the industry, says his only motto is to entertain the public. "I have done so many films that it becomes difficult to find something new. I want that if people want to work with me, I should have something new to tell from the work that I have done. I want to continue entertaining people the way I have." | Posted: 14 Dec 2011 02:28 AM PST  Krrish 3: Mumbai, Dec 13 (IANS) Hrithik Roshan got injured while shooting for "Krrish 3" at the Filmistan Studios -- he fell down and hurt himself very badly. A member from the unit revealed that Hrithik, who has been assisting his father, Rakesh Roshan, on the sets, attempted to attend to his injury himself. "Hrithik tried to use the first-aid kit to nurse his hand, but then he realised that the injury required professional attention. His skin on his right hand had peeled off and so, he had to take a break from the shoot. Everyone on set was very concerned, but he did not let it affect the shoot," added the unit member. The incident took place last week. In October, Hrithik injured his back while shooting for an action sequence for "Agneepath" remake and was taken to the Breach Candy hospital here for treatment. "I believe in promoting our own cuts and designs and that is why my resort wear line has completely Indianised garments with no western influence on it," Malhotra told IANS. The designer, who brought the curtain down on the first edition of India Resort Fashion Week (IRFW), presented a collection that was a mix of anarkalis, suits, saris, jodhpuri pants, trousers, jackets, kurtas with bikini tops, cropped pants in hues like ivory, fushia pink, amber, steel grey. The collection was not in sync with the theme, but he explained it thus: "My collection is a mix of resort and bridal line. Internationally, one relates a resort line with cruise-wear line, but I wanted to give it a different meaning altogether. I don't want to restrict resort wear to a few specific garments. "For me, looking glamorous and feminine is one of the main aspects of a resort wear line and the silhouettes must fit the party look. So I wanted to present the Indianised version of resort wear in the form of saris, chiffon kurtas, jodhouri pants and anarkalis." "The collection is all about clean hemlines, bold colours, no blings and no accessories. I think this will fit into the wardrobe of anybody who relates to India," he added. Malhotra extensively used chiffon, linen, velvets and silk to create garments and give them a sensuous and chic makeover. Asked whether the collection will attract international buyers, the designer said: "I am not looking at international buyers as I never participate in fashion weeks for business. I am happy with my Indian buyers, orders and assignments. It leaves me no time to do other stuff." "But, yes, international buyers do show interest in Indian designs. Last time when I visited Goa, I dressed up an Egyptian actress in Indian attire which she liked a lot. So, I would say fans of Indian designs are everywhere around the world," he added. Post-IRFW, the designer will be busy with movie projects and other assignments. "Half the time is consumed in considering movie offers. He is talking more, dancing more and is certainly more visible than ever before. With a slate of films lined up in the New Year, Bollywood's quintessential handsome hunk hopes to find "inspired living". "I think I have let myself go. I have opened up and let my hair down gradually. So the change is evident, both in my personal as well as professional life," John told IANS in a telephonic interview from Mumbai. The 38-year-old who split from his girlfriend of eight years, actress Bipasha Basu, earlier this year, was quite reticent earlier. But thanks to movie promotions, which required him to be in the limelight as well as meet and greet fans and mediapersons, John has come out of his shell. This year has been significant for John as he had three releases - "7 Khoon Maaf", "Force" and "Desi Boyz". If "7 Khoon Maaf" won critical appreciation, the other two faired well at the box office. In fact, "Force" is being considered one of John's biggest releases so far in his eight-year-old acting career, which kickstarted with "Jism". "I am happy. This is the best phase of my career so far. But you never know how long this lasts! With my present slate of films, I can look forward to ups and downs, but I would like to believe that I have a safe set of projects in my kitty," said John. His visibility on screen and off screen will bump up next year thanks to his long line-up of films - "I, Me Aur Main", "Housefull 2", "Race 2" and "Shootout At Wadala". Could the much-talked about sequel to Mahesh Bhatt's "Jism" also be in the pipeline? "Well, I can't say anything right now. Bhatt saab spoke to me about the film, but I have been busy shooting. I have not even read the script yet; so I can take a decision only once I do that," said John, who might feature alongside Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone if he is offered and accepts "Jism 2". But for now, he wants to concentrate on the projects in hand, so that he can achieve "inspired living", which also happens to be the essence behind home appliances and consumer electronics brand, Haier, of which he is a brand ambassador. "Inspired living to me is self-actualisation...it is beyond the physiological needs of people. I would like to believe that I lead an inspired life.
