Aamir gifts a painting to Salman

Posted: 31 Dec 2011 09:10 AM PST

Aamir Khan has gifted a painting to Salman Khan. According to Aamir, he is not a good painter but he loves painting just like he loves singing.  In 'Dhobi Ghat', the actor played a painter and he has also played a painter in 'Taare Zameen Par'.

"Painting, like singing, is something I really enjoy doing. Though I do it badly," Aamir Khan recently said at the launch of CDs and DVDs of Dhobi Ghat.

"I love singing, it puts me in a good mood. It disturbs the hell out of everyone around me, but it makes me feel very happy... painting also. I have realised that I am really a bad painter but when I am painting, I get so engrossed and I feel as if I am making something like a Picasso," said the 46-year-old about his two passions.

Aamir Khan said that he completed a painting while shooting for Dhobi Ghat and later gifted it to his friend Salman Khan, who also loves painting in spare time.

"The one painting that I have done in my life is on the sets of Dhobi Ghat, while they were lighting up, I did a full canvas and presented it to Salman. So, it's in Salman's house," Aamir Khan said.

Apart from two films, 'Dhoom 3' and 'Talaash', the star is enjoying the company of his new born.

Bollywood no match to Hollywood in terms of technology: Neil

Posted: 30 Dec 2011 05:16 PM PST

Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh, who will be next seen in action-flick 'Players' feels Bollywood is way behind Hollywood in terms of technology and execution. "We constantly talk about Hollywood and Bollywood, but I feel we are nowhere close to them what so ever whether it is in terms of technology or processing or story line or execution or anything.

Their 'Superman' and all came 30 years back and we hardly made a film like 'Krrish' that has worked for us," Neil told in an interview. "So we are way way behind them...that is because there audience have accepted futuristic films... because movies are meant to be made to believe, they are meant to be larger than life.

Unfortunately it is not like that our films are bad but we are not catering and guiding to our audiences," he said. "Today almost for every film a critic writes leave your brains behind and enjoy the film...why would one leave their brains behind ? One must go there and see an intelligent film.

So make an intelligent film and feed your audience with that. If we keep offering them certain amount or certain quality of films they will get used to that and expect that only."

"If you see those (Hollywood) films doing well then it because there imagination and execution is that powerful. The last horror made in Bollywood that I loved was 'Haunted'.

I feel we can go to next level soon," he said. 'Players', directed by Abbas-Mustan is the official remake of hit Hollywood crime-thriller 'The Italian Job'. Neil is all praise for the execution by the director duo of the film, where he essays the role of Spider, a computer hacker. "I play a computer hacker...he is a computer whiz. He is intelligent.

His mind is very strong and whichever thing he wants to hack or in whatever space he needs to get into as far as gizmo zone is concerned he knows his ways out. He becomes an integral part of the hyped robbery and its impossible to execute this robbery without him," Neil said.

"The one thing that I admire about Abbas-Mustan is that from 'Khiladi' to 'Players' they have always progressed with time. 'Players' is slightly advanced in its time.

Its a very well shot film. Their thinking is not old-school, they are very stylish, he said. The film, relasing on January 6 also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Bobby Deol, Sonam Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Omi Vaidya and Sikander Kher in pivotal roles.

Only Katrina could have been 'Chikni Chameli'

Posted: 30 Dec 2011 01:16 PM PST

Choreographer Ganesh Acharya, who directed Katrina Kaif's dance moves in the popular item number "Chikni Chameli", says she was the perfect choice for the number and that nobody could have done justice to the song.

"Katrina has done a lot of hard work for the song. She has given all the power and dedication that was needed. Only Katrina Kaif could have been 'Chikni Chameli', nobody else and she has proved it also," said Acharya.

"We choreographers only choreograph the song, but it is the artist who makes all the difference. She did it very nicely," he added.

Acharya is known for choreographing item numbers like "Beedi" in "Omkara" and "Shalu ke thumke" in "Bin Bulaye Baraati".

The song, composed by national award-winning duo Ajay-Atul and sung by Shreya Ghoshal, has become the USP of Karan Johar's "Agneepath", a remake of Amitabh Bachchan-starrer 1990 movie of the same name. It has garnered over five million views on Youtube.

"Public has given us a lot of love and appreciation. We gave our best... I did all that I could do from my end. I would like to thank everybody for all the love," he added.

The action-drama, slated for a Jan 26 release, features Hrithik Roshan as Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, originally played by Amitabh. Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor will also be seen in key roles in the movie.
