Stay Snuggly This Season

How will you, one of many hustling to class in the upcoming bitter cold, stand out while staying warm? With a cute coat, of course! You can't tell me you plan on walking around campus this fall in a sweatshirt. Honestly.

NUMBAH ONE thing to get this fall is a STATEMENT COAT!! Last year featured basic shapes along with crazy prints such as plaid and paisley. This year showcases more adventurous cuts in simpler solid colors, either neutral or bold. Either way, statement coats are great investment pieces for your closet.

Make a Statement with COLOR!!

A coat in a bright jewel tone will STAND OUT and will be perfect for when game days get colder! Remember: the longer the coat, the more formal it is. SO..if you get one that goes to your knees, show off your legs with sheer tights (preferably Wolford) and pumps in a matching color, hello Amazon legs!

Make a Statement with FUR ACCENTS!~

Straight up comfy and purr-fect for fall! Go Rachel Zoe and sport all-over fur (faux, of course).

If all fur is too intense, just try something with a fur collar or cuffs or trim. Pair with leggings, equestrian boots, and a furry hat! You'll look so cuddly.

DON’T PLAY IT SAFE: Try a cape!!

Yeah, it seems a little scary and you think you might look borderline matador, but put together in the right way, you can have an easy fashion-forward outfit. J. Crew always has at least one featured cape and Forever 21 and H&M always have a few options.

MAKE IT WORK: Make sure the cape is in subdued colors, like in the picture above. The cape is enough. Try it in cream or white and don't deviate from those colors in the rest of your outfit (i.e. black jeans, black boots, pearls, black gloves). Very French.

THE THING TO TAKE AWAY FROM THIS SEASON:

Invest in one intense bright this season and WORK it. Accent the color in your accessories or incorporate it into your clothes (i.e. jewel-tone T-shirt, bright pump, or evening gown).

Sapphire, tangerine, cobalt, scarlet, emerald (really big this season!)…. the options are endless!
