Fun and Fabulous Costumes

Halloween is fast approaching, and if you haven’t gotten your costume ready yet, it’s time to start now! Almost all of the Halloween costumes I’ve ever worn have come from clothes in my closet already, with the exception of a few thrift store additions. This year, I’m going as the ever popular Police/FBI Officer, while my fantabulous counterpart (the boyfriend), is the prisoner. So I’m going to keep this brief and show you guys and gals some fabulous costume ideas for this year!

Just to start it off:

Me circa 1994 (I think, it was a while ago) as the Energizer Bunny!

Girls.

- Crayon. This is quite possibly my costume for next year, it’s fun and playful and shows off your inner child, and who says you need to buy? Throw on your brightest colours topped off with a matching party hat in a matching colour (which can be made out of paper if you can’t find it in stores) and add a paper sign down your front that say’s “CRAYOLA”. This is also a great idea as a group costume, get your girls together and go as crayons together!

- Police Officer/Doctor/Pirate. Classic. Cute. Always in style.

- Royal Wedding Guests. The ones that were the more “out-there” the better. Wear an awesome outfit and don’t forget the hat!

Guys.

- Cereal-Killer. This one is so funny, and simple. Wear all black, and get those multi-pack cereal boxes (the little ones) and tape or glue them to your clothing. Get a bunch of plastic knives and stab them into the boxes and glue them to keep them in place. (Helpful Hint: Use only the handles of the knives to reduce bulk, and don’t stab the knives into the boxes while your wearing them!! BAD BAD BAD!)

- Police Officer/Doctor/Pirate. Same as above, they never go out of style, and are always easy to pull off the night before.

- “Super Bowl”. Not really gender specific, seeing as my friend and I did this one year, and it was a huge conversation starter! Throw on some blue tights (or jeans/leggings etc..), with a pair of red boxers (or panties), and a red cape. Make a simple crest to imitate the superman one, but instead of just the “S”, make it an “S.B” to stand for Super Bowl. Top it off by wearing a bowl on your head (add a string to keep it on, mine kept falling off..) and your set!

Couples/Groups.

- Superhero Group. Works for a group of all girls, all guys, or both.

- Cops and Robbers. Fun and original.

- Bacon and Eggs. I’ve seen this costume all over the internet and in stores, and for a couple, I think it’s so funny! Definitely a 1st place costume!

- Tetris Blocks. I knew a group of people when I was in high school that made their costumes out of cardboard boxes and painted them. So original, and everyone noticed them. The only downside…I don’t think they sat down at all.

- Ninja Turtles/Power Rangers. I’m a 90’s kid, what can I say?

- Spice Girls. This is more of a suggestion of a Girl Group or Boy Band, but the Spice Girls are always a fan favourite. If I had a group I’d do it, but I feel like a lonely Baby Spice doesn’t have the same effect.
