My best friend Mary Faith on Bid Day! Come on, guys, you could pick her out anywhere on campus. She might be a sorority girl if she’s wearing…
Basically this girl…(love her, she’s my real sister, a Tri-Delt from UA and studying abroad in Italy!) Honestly, there is such a mold when it comes to daily wear for us Greek girls and all my rockin' un-affiliated girls out there. Most of the time, all we want to do is stand out. So WHY NOT let the fall be the time BrAnCH OuT!! There are so many options for casual wear this fall that are versatile and will get you from class to social comfortably and stylishly. THIS SEASON IN ONE WORD: LAYERING!!Last year's winter was definitely cooler than expected (enter snowpocalypse if you live in GA like me) and the designers stepped up to the challenge to keep their customers snuggly in wool coats with statement prints, chunky sweaters and lots of shearling accents. The designers haven't forgotten the last winter's season…and you shouldn't either! Three looks I love: 1. SWEATER COAT OVER DRESSEVERYDAY: Add a no-fuss ballerina bun and some geeky glasses. GOING OUT: Add your sexiest LBD, a statement necklace (preferably one that doesn't pass your collarbone) and smoky eyes. 2. CROPPED TOP OVER LONG BOTTOMMAKE IT WORK: This skirt with a long lacy or knit tunic gives you the illusion of an elongated body. Make sure the tunic is lighter than the skirt (or vice versa) and in a filmier material like lace or silk. ADD: A loooong necklace! For class: A belt, leather boots, and a scarf as it gets colder outside Going out: Sky-high heels, bangles, and flowy hair 3. SHORT TOP OVER LONG BOTTOMMAKE IT WORK: The sweater over the dress: pure genius! ADD: Bangles, bangles, bangles! And your hottest pair of boots. Going out: Strappy heels, and bold lipstick Thoughts? What are some “sorority girl” trends you have noticed on your campus? What are your ideas on how to break the style mold? Comment below, email us at info@college-style.com, or tweet us @CollegeStyle12, or me @maddierose12. Send some pics of your own ideas! |
