Maybe you’ve seen someone else wearing one and loved the look, or maybe you weren’t too sure. Maybe you have one in your closet just waiting to see the light of day or maybe you love it so much, it’s coming apart at the seams. Either way, over-sized T-shirts are fun, comfortable and can look fabulous on everyone! Here is some fashion inspiration and a few styling tips for wearing an oversized shirt!
Styling Tips
As always when wearing a piece that is either exceptionally fitted or loose, it’s important that the other elements of the outfit provide contrast. Loose on the top probably means you’ll need to wear something more fitted and streamlined on the bottom.
Belting an oversized top defines your waist, taking the look from casual to fabulous! Pair a larger tunic and a chunky belt with some hardcore hardware, or a more delicate top with a dainty waist belt.
Look #1: Maxi Skirt
For this fun bohemian look, pair an oversized grandpa cardigan with one of the seasons hottest trends — a maxi skirt! These sweeping skirts will be in-style at least through fall, so take your wardrobe further by pairing it with a cozy cardigan. Button the cardigan and tuck-in the pink tee for a class presentation and loosen up a little for a study session at the library afterwards. The pink and mustard hues are feminine and adorable for any autumn day. Look #2: ScarfSkinny jeans are perfect for wearing with oversized tees, and this outfit is no exception. I adore this soft pink tee and with a scarf and cardigan, it will be easy to dress-up or down, from chilly walks across campus to over-heated classrooms. Gray oxfords are a fun twist on a classic and dress-up this pretty pink outfit.
Look #3: LeggingsThis outfit is bold and edgy — perfect for legging lovers and those with rockstar style. These tribal print leggings are trendy and get you major fashion points. The silver-studded boots and cuff complete the look. Look #4: PeacoatThis oversized top is long, loose and I love the pockets! The double-breasted peacoat will keep you warm, and can be worn open in case you want to show your stripes. The teal flats add a bright pop of one of this fall’s favorite colors and the jeans are simple and relaxed. Thoughts?Do any oversized tees grace your closet? What’s your favorite way to style them?
