Graduation season is wrapping up and it’s time to buy gifts for your friend, cousin, teacher, neighbor, that kid you have gone to school with since elementary school, but have never really talked to… But what to get? For your high school friends, this may be the last time you see them for a while, especially if cruel college fate is dispersing your friend group across the entire state or even country. You want the gift to be heartfelt, but not cheesy, and of course, you want them to love it, so what to give, what to give?

Some Gift Ideas:

  • Photo album: For your closest friends, you’ll want to do something more unique and sentimental. Try buying a photo album, such as the one pictured above,  and filling it with photos and memories of the last years.
  • Journals: Journals are a great gift, especially for college graduation. Depending on the field, a book such as the velvet ones pictured above, could be used for a portfolio or keepsake. This is a great gift for family members.
  • Letters: When in doubt, write a letter. Write letters to the teachers and adults who have helped mentor you. Tell them how much they meant to you, the lessons you learned from them and how you will use those lessons in college. Also, include a picture of yourself.
  • Dorm decor: For graduation parties and friends who haven’t crossed the river of sentimentality, decor for their dorm room is a great option. Since you don’t know what their color scheme will be, stick to neutrals or items that could be used in any dorm like a nice bulletin board or a fridge. Also, some students choose to make a registry for their dorm room so ask if they have one before you buy.
  • Money: Let’s face it: money makes a great gift. Always. Giving grads money can help them with the expenses of college.
  • Thank you notes: With all the gifts they’ll be receiving, they’ll be writing a lot of thank you notes. Personalized notes can make a great, practical gift.
  • College gear: If you really don’t know what to get, try anything with their new college logo on it. If you’re still clueless, get a snuggie. Why? It is half a joke and half a “hey, I could use this” item. It’s the blanket with hands!
